Korean Workers strike against Satellite Radio Manufacturer

Kiryung ElectronicsHere's an upsetting article about Korean workers striking against satellite radio manufacturer Kiryung Electronics..

A group of women who assemble radios for Sirius in Seoul, South Korea, organized a union three years ago after the company made the women work 13-hour days, six to seven days a week. Pay was only $3.62 an hour in the capital city, where the cost of living is similar to that of New York.

Additionally, here are a few articles and letters about the subject matter:

- The Dark Side of Sirius Satellite Radio
- Letter to Howard Stern

Kiryung Electronics manufactures some of the Sirius favorite products such as the sportster series:

- List of Sirius Products that Kiryung Electronics manufactures

Sirius XM Radio Inc. management team definitely should step in and put this issue to rest. They need to put pressure on Kiryung Electronics to improve working conditions. The threat of a major loss of revenue stream for Kiryung Electronics would be the only reason they would have to improve these terrible working conditions.
